The inserting of that inspiring video clip or dramatic audio can not only leave an impression on the audience but also enhance the engagement of the audience. It's easy to add music to Keynote slide or embed video in Keynote but not easy to find a special soundtrack or audio.

Where to find a Special soundtrack for your presentation? There are numerous streaming music platforms for you to select your favorites. Spotify stands out from the competition which officially houses over 40 million tracks from a vast gamut of artists. Whether you're looking for Post Malone's latest album or rock music from the 1960s, Spotify has you covered.

However, the embed audio files must be in a format that QuickTime supports on your Mac. Before you are prepared to add music to Keynote slide, you need to convert Spotify music to an MPEG-4 file (with a.m4a filename extension). Here's how to add music to Keynote slideshow.

Add existing audio to Keynote

When you add audio file to a slide, the audio plays only when that slide is showing in your presentation. Just do one of the following:

Drag an audio file from your computer to an audio placeholder or to anywhere else on the slide. Or click on the 'Media' button marked the square icon with a music note, then click on the 'Music' button, and next drag a file to a media placeholder or to anywhere else on the slide.

Add soundtrack to Keynote

A soundtrack begins playing when the presentation starts. If there are slides that already have video or audio, the soundtrack also plays on those slides. A file added as a soundtrack always plays from its beginning.

Click on the 'Shape' button in the toolbar, then click the Audio tab at the top of the sidebar on the right. Then click on the 'Add' button to select one or more songs or playlists for adding to the soundtrack. Finally, click the soundtrack pop-up menu, then choose an option, including Off, Play Once, and Loop.
