Step 1

Launch and Set Up TunesKit Audio Capture for Mac

By launching TunesKit Audio Capture for Mac, you'll find a popup window where some applications are listed, such as iTunes, QT, Chrome, Safari, etc. You can simply click any icon to open the app that you want to capture audio from. If the program that you desired is not listed there, just click "+" button to add the program manually.

Step 2

Adjust Output Preferences

Before capturing, please go to the bottom right corner of TunesKit interface. Find the "format" button format icon and click it to set the output audio preferences. You can select the output format there including MP3, WAV, AAC, M4A, M4B and FLAC. You are also allowed to customize the output audio quality, such as codec, sample rate, bit rate, etc. all depend on your own specific needs.

Step 3

Start Capturing Audio on Mac

Now return to the media application you just selected and begin playing the audio or video you want to capture. Then you'll see a new recording task being created in TunesKit capture list. It will record the audio in real time while the track is playing. To stop capturing, you just need to cease playing the audio and quit the media program.

Note: If the whole recording you captured contains multiple music tracks together, it will detect the silence and pauses between all the tracks and split the whole recording into individual clips during the process. It will also allow you capture different sounds playing through different programs at the same time.

Step 4

Edit and Save the Audio Recording

After the recording process finishes, click the "edit" icon edit icon next to each track so that you can split the audio tracks by setting the start and end point manually and precisely. You can also edit the ID3 tags of the audio tracks, such as the cover, artist, year, title, etc. If you want to mix all the recording clips into one single file, you can check the option of "Merge into one" at the bottom. When everything is set up, click "Save" button to store the recorded tracks on your Mac.

To locate the recorded audio tracks, simply click the "converted" icon history and you'll find the audio recordings being listed like below:
