When you are browsing iTunes Store for movies, you'll find most of the HD movies have a badge named iTunes Extras on the cover. If you bought any iTunes HD movie with iTunes Extras, you'll have the right to enjoy the special features including photo galleries, deleted scenes, exclusive interviews, or behind-the-scenes footage of the original movie. You'll also be allowed to download and watch those iTunes Extras on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TV. In case you are not familiar with the features of iTunes Extras yet, this article is here to help you understand it better.
In this article, you'll find the full guide to iTunes Extras, including what they are, how to download iTunes Extras on computer, how to watch iTunes Extras on Apple TV, iPhone, etc., as well as how to completely bypass DRM from iTunes Extras.
Brief Introduction of iTunes Extras
iTunes Extras firstly debuted in September 2009 on iTunes desktop and the original, OS X-based Apple TV. In July of 2014, Apple updated iTunes Extras. Until then, the old-style iTunes Extras were relabeled as iTunes Extras (Original) and stayed locked to iTunes Desktop. The new iTunes Extras immediately became available on iTunes desktop, Apple TV with the 6.2 update and the iPhone and iPad with iOS 8.
iTunes Extras usually include director's commentary, deleted scenes, bonus scenes, making-of documentaries, and other features. Currently not all movies that had the old iTunes Extras have the new iTunes Extras (hence the need to label them on iTunes desktop), and not all movies have iTunes Extras. iTunes Extras aren't available in certain countries. And they are only available for select HD titles on the iTunes Store. The iTunes Extras are not supported by movie rentals.
How to Download Original iTunes Extras
If you bought a movie with iTunes Extras before July 10, 2014, you can download the original iTunes Extras on a Mac or PC with iTunes 9 or later by following these steps:

How to Remove DRM from iTunes Extras
You may have already realized the fact that you can only watch the iTunes Extras via Extras menu inside of the original movie. Is it possible to watch the iTunes Extras separately with the movie itself? In general, since the iTunes movies and Extras are protected by Apple's DRM, you are restricted to play those protected media on Apple's devices only, while you can't view the iTunes Extras files without the original movie even on Apple's own platform. But don't worry. In this case, you only need a professional iTunes DRM removal tool, such as TunesKit DRM M4V Converter for Mac, with which you can easily bypass the DRM copyright protection from the iTunes movies and Extras. You can follow this tutorial to get rid of the DRM from iTunes Extras completely with TunesKit iTunes Extras Converter.

Step 3. Start removing DRM from protected iTunes movies by clicking Convert button.
Once the conversion completes, you'll see the converted iTunes Extras in .ite extension in the same folder of the converted movie. The only difference between the original iTunes Extras and converted DRM-free ones is that you can only watch the original iTunes Extras together within the movie while you can play the converted DRM-free iTunes Extras separately with the movie on your Mac as you like.
